The house

The house is built in harmony with the landscape and reflects the beauty of the Minoan era. Materials are traditional and natural: stone, earth and wood. The paints used are also naturally sourced, like those on a religious icon, and the colours are inspired by the surrounding palette. Rodialos is constructed for its inhabitants to live indoors and outdoors simultaneously. The life of the Ancient Greeks was in the open so there is no main entrance. Modern architecture is adapted to ancient memories, respectful of the geometry of the environment, allowing the house to cool naturally. Rodialos bears no superfluous elements; it is plain, unaffected yet functional, as all ancient Greek dwellings were.
The house can comfortably accommodate up to 10 people and provides all contemporary and necessary comforts:
The four spacious bedrooms (one of them en-suite, another with two hobs and a fridge) are simple, comfortable and accommodate up to eight people. There are three bathrooms all covered with white marble. Linen is changed and the house cleaned twice a week. Further services upon request.

The wide dining room, the terrace and the veranda can accommodate numerous guests for symposia, dinners and parties according to the weather. In the spacious living room there are two more beds for afternoon naps or to accommodate extra guests.
We provide central heating, three television sets (in the living room and two of the bedrooms), a landline, broadband internet and a stereo system. The main kitchen has a dishwasher, two refrigerators, a freezer and oven. In the second kitchen is a refrigerator, hobs and more than the necessary pots, plates and cutlery. A laundry room with washing machine, cleaning products, a drying rack and iron, is situated next to one of the bathrooms.
Lastly, you will find a large compost heap in the field for recycling residual waste (no oil, bread, pasta or meat).
